Pantry to Dinner
← All recipesFROM THE PANTRY TO THE TABLEParmesan-crusted fish with green beans
A crisp breadcrumb topping makes simple baked fish feel special. PaPa's favorite.
Quantities adjust for 1–8 people. For larger portions, use a larger pan or cook in batches; allow extra time. For partial cans, measure that fraction of the contents. Season to taste.
What you’ll need
“In pantry” checks names, not available quantities. Edit your pantry.
- white fish fillets¾ lb, thawed
- green beans½ lb, trimmed
- breadcrumbs¼ cup
- parmesan2 tbsp grated
- butter1 tbsp melted
- olive oil1 tbsp
- lemon½, cut into wedges
- black pepper¼ tsp
Water is not counted as a pantry ingredient. Dietary labels refer to the specified ingredients; check packaged products for allergens and suitability.
Let’s cook
- Heat oven to 425°F (220°C). Toss green beans with olive oil and half the pepper on one side of a rimmed sheet pan. Roast for 5 minutes.
- Mix breadcrumbs, parmesan, melted butter and remaining pepper. Pat fish dry and place on the other side of the pan. Press the crumbs onto the fish.
- Bake for 10–15 minutes more, until the fish reaches 145°F (63°C) in its thickest part and flakes easily. Thin fillets may finish sooner; remove them while beans finish if needed.
- Divide fish and green beans among plates. Serve with lemon wedges for squeezing over the top.
